Baker County commissioners approved a contract to integrate credit-card processing with the county's new permitting application, a change staff said will let the county pass processing fees to payers and consolidate current disparate payment processes.
IT/staff member Clint explained that the selected vendor will interface with the county server and produce importable files for finance; the intent is to pass processing fees to the cardholder and to reduce current manual tracking across multiple systems. The contract language allows vendors to change rates with notice; staff added a termination-for-convenience clause (90-day) so the county can exit if rates rise unexpectedly.
The board approved the contract by motion and voice vote. Staff said the vendor integration would be piloted with the permitting office and, if successful, rolled out to other offices that currently accept card payments, and that remote/QR-code entry at Shows Park is already supported through the temporary system in place.
