Three members of the board’s student advisory panel presented specific, student‑driven recommendations to address teacher recruitment/retention and post‑secondary access. Students recommended a statewide mentorship program for new teachers, surveys to identify non‑teaching burdens that could be reallocated (for example to security or support staff), subject‑specific teacher training including ELL and special education, recognition programs, and expanded dual‑enrollment and AP/IB access for smaller and rural schools. They also urged more college and career counselors and outreach (including social‑media tools and podcasts) to raise awareness of financial‑aid and FAFSA processes.
