Lindenhurst authorizes contract with DeKind Computer Consultants for IT services

The Lindenhurst Village Board on Feb. 22 authorized Village Administrator Clay Johnson to enter into a professional services contract with DeKind Computer Consultants to provide information technology services to the Village.
Staff said the Village has long outsourced IT to LeadingIT of Crystal Lake and sought competitive quotes to reduce cost and improve service. DeKind offered competitive pricing and staff said the firm has knowledge of the Village’s financial and police department software, which led to the recommendation to transition.
Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to authorize the Village Administrator to enter a service contract with DeKind Computer Consultants; Trustee Patty Chybowski seconded. The board voted 6-0 in favor. Staff noted the authorization is intended to allow adequate notice to the incumbent vendor and time for a transition before new services begin as part of the 2021–2022 budget considerations.
No executive session was held during the meeting. The board adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
