Personnel items: The Personnel Committee recommended ratifying several personnel changes and backfills, including the resignation of Property Appraiser Derek Arms effective May 26, 2026; transition of a full-time corrections officer to part time with an internal promotion to backfill; backfill of a vacant Survey Crew Chief position; two highway maintenance worker backfills; and ratification of Social Worker Miranda Auger’s resignation (effective June 2, 2026) with authorization to backfill the role. The board approved those recommendations by voice vote.
Performance Management Program: Staff presented Pine County’s performance results and recommended continuing participation in the Local Results and Innovation Performance Measurement Program overseen by the Office of the State Auditor. Resolution 2026-24 to continue participation (which makes the county eligible for a 14-cent-per-capita reimbursement, estimated at ~$4,266) was moved, seconded, and adopted by voice vote.
Budget schedule: The board approved a tentative 2027 budget meeting schedule that begins in early July and consolidates department presentations into regular meetings to reduce the need for special meetings.
