MANITOWOC — The Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution authorizing application for the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant and committing the required local matching funds.
Supervisor Benke introduced the resolution on behalf of the Highway Committee and Supervisor Zimmer seconded. The clerk recorded a 25–0 vote in favor.
The SS4A program funds projects aimed at reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries; the committee report and motion committed the county to provide the local match if the grant application is successful. County staff will next complete the grant application and return to the committee with details about project scope and the amount of local match required.
The vote was taken without public comment and passed unanimously.
