Commissioners hear Prometheus outreach plans and new housing-development contacts

County commissioners received an economic-development update that outlined community outreach by Prometheus and a new housing-development contact.

An economic-development speaker said Prometheus held a stakeholder meeting and that Alex Lane, described in the meeting as "a business development director for Prometheus," has requested a "getting to know Prometheus" event for Greene County around the end of July. Commissioners were told a planning meeting for that event is scheduled for next Thursday.

The speaker also said they connected Mark Gabriel, associated with Mainstream Fiber, with an investor and with Carlo Camp to discuss a mixed-use housing product (duplexes, cottages and apartments) that has operated in other states; an in-person meeting between the parties was being arranged for later in the month.

Why it matters: Prometheus's outreach event and the developer contact could influence local planning, future construction timelines and public engagement around utility and housing infrastructure.
