Consultants Karen Sentoff (VHB) and Bryan Davis (CCRPC) presented a draft Active Transportation Plan to Milton’s Selectboard on June 15 that maps walking and biking priorities across town and lists candidate corridor and network projects.
The presentation summarized existing conditions and public engagement activities, then outlined a prioritized list of corridor and network projects. During discussion, Selectboard members asked the consultants and staff to consider amenities such as resting benches and shade trees and to identify solutions for sidewalk gaps where routes cross railroad tracks. No formal vote was taken; the consultants and staff indicated a final adoption vote is scheduled for a July meeting.
The draft plan will inform future capital work on sidewalks, crossings, and bicycle facilities; the Selectboard signaled interest in additional detail on maintenance responsibilities and amenity placement before final adoption.
Residents may review the draft plan and provide comments ahead of the July vote, when the board expects to take formal action.
