OC Community Response Team seeks data support after reporting 18 peer-support completions

Erika Kleinschmidt summarized the OC Community Response Team’s 2025 annual evaluation, reporting 18 successful completions in the Peer Support Services Team. She told the committee that the program’s data collection processes are complex, that different grants require different measures, and that the team lacks specific standardized measures of success. The committee has solicited proposals and has received three proposals for a data support consultant to help define metrics and improve data collection.
Kleinschmidt said the team is also exploring sustainability options, including potential billing for services, and noted that success in the voluntary Peer Support Services program is currently determined by goals set with participants (for example, securing a job, housing, and natural supports).
On law-enforcement deflection, Kleinschmidt and Chief Josh Chiamulera reported that the Rhinelander Police Department has maintained a Peer Support Coach for eight years and that the WI Deflection Initiative will offer a free training that includes CEUs; the meeting minutes note Chief Wintersheim of Superior, WI, is scheduled to present on the initiative.
The committee identified data capacity and sustainable funding as priorities for 2026 and will evaluate proposals for a data consultant to support the OC Community Response Team and other CJCC sub-committees.
