River Ridge board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and opens application process for Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District Board unanimously accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) at its Aug. 27 meeting.

Board members and staff discussed outreach to recruit candidates for the unexpired term. Management said the seat had been represented by Mr. Gilman for eight years for The Meadows neighborhood and that staff would include a resident-submitted resume on the next agenda. The Board asked Mr. Long and The Meadows' property owners association manager to e-blast residents with candidate qualification requirements and to ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting.

The Board noted that the eventual appointment will require the administration of the oath of office and completion of statutory forms and training (sample Form 1 instructions, membership obligations, Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics guidance, and Form 8B memorandum of voting conflict). The agenda indicated those materials will be provided in a separate package and that the item was deferred for further processing.
