She reported that CDBG‑funded activities supported five small businesses with technical assistance and advertising, rehabilitated three housing units, and provided public services to ‘‘6,000 plus’’ people in a covered census tract (staff clarified the census tract population is about 5,606 but used the 6,000+ figure for reporting purposes).
Commissioners asked about a numeric discrepancy in the packet totals; staff acknowledged a miscalculation and confirmed the CAPER will be corrected to reflect the 6,000+ total for the public‑services census tract. The commission moved to approve the report with the necessary correction and authorized staff to submit the CAPER to HUD.
