Oldsmar, Fla. — The City Council on June 16 approved a budget amendment and new pay plan following a classification and compensation study conducted with Evergreen Solutions LLC.
City staff described the process and recommended implementing a compa-ratio approach to re-align employee salaries within recommended ranges; the change takes effect July 1, 2026 and funding adjustments will be made through the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026. Councilmembers welcomed the alignment and noted that the new minimum grade would begin at $17.50 an hour.
"This was a big, really big project, so I'm really excited to see it kind of all come together and implement this for our staff," one councilmember said during the vote. Council approved the resolution by voice vote; staff will implement the new pay plan and administer the required budget changes.
