Council adopts fee schedule changes including park swim program options and cemetery pricing

The Enumclaw City Council passed Resolution 18-79 on May 26, adopting multiple adjustments to the city fee schedule proposed by Parks and Finance staff.
Parks and Recreation Director Alina Hibbs told the council staff proposes a new, lower-cost two-day-a-week option for the Aquatic Center’s EELS swim-team program to offer a more affordable alternative for participants. She said the change is intended to preserve existing participation in swim meets while reducing weekly commitment and cost for some families.
Hibbs also described updates to cemetery pricing: many north- and south-facing mausoleum sections are sold out and the proposed resolution updates pricing for available alcove niches and other lot categories to reflect operational and maintenance cost increases and reduced inventory.
A city staff presenter explained that the fee resolution incorporates an automatic April 1 inflationary adjustment for school impact fees; the adjustment reflected a 3.1% increase based on the regional consumer price index and staff said they will coordinate further with the school district on capital facility planning and any deviation from past policy.
Council moved and passed the resolution by voice vote. The changes will be incorporated into permit paperwork and fee schedules going forward.
