Field Local board approves multiple hires, contract renewals and records several retirements

At its May 12 meeting the Field Local Board of Education approved a broad set of personnel actions covering certificated and classified hires, supplemental contracts and contract renewals.
The Superintendent’s consent agenda, carried by roll call, included internal role changes (Kristine Baker to District Instructional Technology Specialist and Connie Tenney to district librarian) and a slate of certificated employment offers for one-, three- and five‑year limited contracts for the 2025–26 school year. The meeting packet lists numerous named staff and step placements.
The board voted to award one three-year limited teaching contract to Kristen Porter; the roll-call vote was Stewart-Yes, Slaven-Yes, Evans-Yes, Porter-Abstain, Calcei-Yes. The superintendent also recommended re-employment under continuing contract for Rebecca Watson and Miranda Lach pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.11(B)(1).
The board accepted several resignations effective at the end of the 2024–25 school year or on specified dates, including Suffield Principal Shawn Bookman (retirement effective July 1, 2025), Delaney Wyant (Spanish teacher) and others listed in the agenda.
Administrative items also included proposed first readings of policies such as an Electronic Communications Devices policy and the Parents' Bill of Rights; the policies will return for formal adoption in a future meeting.
