Klamath County commissioners approve routine agreements, open hearing on nuisance-code changes

The board also approved a licensing and co‑creation agreement, advanced a recommendation for a new liquor license for the Trading Post Market, and designated the chair to sign an access permit between Klamath County and the Herson family. The board appointed Jessica McClung to the Midland Community Park District Board (OR2026‑052) and noted a previously approved agreement with the Bureau of Land Management (Agreement #BLM‑OR930‑2607).
At 1:15 p.m. the board held the first public hearing on proposed Ordinance 36.09, which would amend Chapter 401.020 — Nuisance Control. Commissioner Minty opened the hearing and asked for testimony in favor, neutral and against; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed by the board without public comment.
During commissioner reports, Commissioner Nichols urged residents to vote on Election Day: “I want to encourage every eligible citizen in Klamath County to exercise this most sacred right and responsibility we have as Americans, our right to vote.” Commissioner DeGroot also encouraged turnout, saying, “if you don’t vote, you don’t get to complain.” The board adjourned at 1:16 p.m.
