The South Dennis Historic District Commission on June 17 unanimously approved application 26-226 to replace decking boards and stair treads at 121 Main Street, specifying composite decking and white risers.
Anthony, a contractor with PLJ Carpentry, said the work is limited to decking boards and the treads and will not alter the deck frame or railings. "It's just decking board replacements," he said, adding the structure and supports are sound and the project is primarily maintenance.
Commissioners discussed finish color for risers and kickboards. The board agreed on white risers to match trim and to provide specific guidance on the file; the contractor noted the homeowner is comfortable with that choice. Don moved to approve the application as presented; the motion passed unanimously.
