The City of Hanover Planning Commission voted unanimously May 22 to recommend approval of a site plan for a Prindle property at 263/283 River Road, with a condition that the proposed addition be enclosed on three sides and clad to match existing site buildings.
City Planner Cindy Nash said planners identified two possible approaches for the application: approve it as submitted while noting that outdoor storage could constitute a code violation depending on how the space is used, or approve the application subject to a condition that the addition be fully enclosed on three sides with siding consistent with the other buildings on the property and with an optional garage door for access. "Option one was to approve it as it was applied for, knowing that it could be a code violation for outdoor storage depending on how the space was used," Nash explained.
Planning Commission member Cody Vojacek moved to recommend approval with the enclosure and siding condition; the motion was seconded by Planning Commission member Jim Schendel and "Motion carried unanimously," according to the meeting minutes. The motion is recorded as a recommendation from the Planning Commission; the transcript frames it as a recommendation rather than a final permit decision.
The commission also handled routine business and announcements. Cindy Nash reported that the Hilltop property changed ownership. Administration and Communications Specialist Deanna Law said a Hilltop interior remodel permit "should be approved by Metro West by next week." Planning Commission member Jim Schendel asked for an increased police presence on River Road. Planning Commission member Jason Mix asked for an update on the Highway 19 project and was directed to the Highway Project page on the City of Hanover website. Council Liaison Mike Amery provided brief updates on the Hanover Photo Contest, a gambling ordinance, and said the city expects to be at full staffing levels on June 16.
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:29 p.m. A final administrative attestation in the minutes is signed by Deanna Law, Administration and Communications Specialist.
