Council hears report of very low spring flows; members say bacteria testing reports missing

The chair reported that Clayton Richardson, the water master, contacted Dan Koehler after residents complained of very low water at their homes and found spring flows near some properties were ‘‘very, very low.’’ “I’ve seen it as low as 15 gallons a minute,” the chair said.
Council members said the system is currently running almost entirely on spring water in some locations and flagged the need to monitor nitrates and bacterial testing. The chair said the town had not received the most recent bacteria reports for the month and would follow up to ensure staff and the council are copied on those emails.
Members also discussed pending administrative items tied to water operations: the town’s UEI removal from the state had not been officially confirmed and the chair said he would contact state personnel to verify the status. The council noted they are about halfway through paperwork related to a potential repayment or submission requirement and that Dirk Anderson is assisting with that process.
No emergency actions or motions were taken during the discussion; members asked staff to verify bacterial test deliveries and to continue monitoring spring flows and water quality.
