Atchison County delays final vote on Rural Water District No. 5 pipeline while authorizing staff outreach
The Atchison County Commission reviewed a proposal by Rural Water District No. 5 to run a new line across county property to Nutrien, agreed to a site meeting and authorized Road & Bridge staff to seek cost-sharing while tabling a final decision until next week; estimated county cost is $9,470 to be covered from Senior Village Proceeds.

The Atchison County Commission on June 16 reviewed a request from Rural Water District No. 5 to install a new water main along Meade Road that would cross county property en route to Nutrien. Chairwoman Casey Quinn said the district asked the county to install the crossing at an increased depth where it would intersect entrances to a proposed future Road and Bridge facility.
