Middle-school leaders showcase 'Linked In' program to board

Mr. Dickinson introduced three students — Madison Yakum, Reese Martin and Jillian Burns — who presented the middle school's 'Linked In to Win' theme focused on building connectedness and classroom norms. The students described four weekly 'set time' sessions that rotate focus days (emotional health, math, ELA, and a 'fun Friday') and highlighted tools such as a 'warrior way' chart to reinforce expectations.
Students demonstrated routines and short videos during the presentation and explained classroom practices such as Chromebook handling, classroom cleanup expectations and brief social-emotional check-ins. Principal and trustees praised the students for leadership and the program's emphasis on belonging.
The spotlight was received as a positive start to the year; students and board members encouraged continued family engagement and community attendance at school events.
