According to Rys, PERA said that if the reported earnings included payouts for unused sick or vacation time, the City must provide a breakdown so employee and employer contributions submitted in error can be refunded; PERA also advised that PERA deductions should not be taken on unused sick or vacation payouts. Rys said she believes the reporting was an error and that she left a message for Sandra Pangerl to notify her. Rys told the council the City will make adjustments for both the employee and the employer once PERA confirms the correction.
