The council took several administrative and contracting actions on June 9. Council approved a service agreement with Nebraska Public Power District; the transcript records a unanimous vote among councilmembers present. The council also approved Change Order #1 with SEL Engineering Services, Inc., adding a net $12,250 to the contract to revise the commissioning plan for the City of Broken Bow Phase 1 BD Sub Project. Administrator David Schmidt and Electric Superintendent Blake Waldow explained the change order will split the project into multiple dates to reduce customer outage time and coordinate with BD’s planned shutdown.
Council also adopted Resolution 2026-10 to authorize up to $65,000 in KENO funds for community betterment projects, with any unspent funds to sunset on Dec. 31, 2026. Administrator Schmidt said the measure mirrors a 2025 resolution and will allow completion of projects delayed when an employee took personal leave.
All recorded votes on these items were unanimous among members present.
