Coach Cupche, the district athletic director, presented the proposed 26‑27 athletic handbook and explained the handbook follows the district’s pupil progression attendance rules. The board focused on a provision that treats Nature Coast’s block schedule differently: four unexcused absences can count toward ineligibility for athletics at that campus because one missed calendar day may equal two class periods under the block model.
