River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and outlines appointment process

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1; term expires November 2026) at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.

District Manager Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. On a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the board accepted the resignation. Board members noted this will be an appointment to fill the unexpired term rather than an election and directed Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA Manager to notify residents by e-blast about the vacancy, candidate qualifications and how to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting.

Materials related to administration of the oath of office and required ethics training and disclosure filings (including sample Form 1, Guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics, and Form 8B) were presented as items to be provided in a separate package; that item was deferred for future action. The board did not take any appointment action at the meeting and will consider candidate submissions at an upcoming meeting.

The acceptance of the resignation was recorded by unanimous motion among supervisors present.
