New Castle County to consider updated class specifications for Assistant County Engineer

New Castle County Council President Monique Williams Johns said at the June 23 meeting that the council will consider resolution R26-one 134 to revise the class specifications for the county’s Assistant County Engineer and Public Works Senior Manager.
The resolution would update the written class specification for the position and assign a new effective date under New Castle County Code Section 2,603, the chair said. "This resolution updates the class specification for the position of Assistant County Engineer and Public Works Senior Manager," Johns said.
During a brief exchange, a council member asked whether the measure creates a new position or simply upgrades an existing one. Johns replied it is not a new position and that any pay changes would not take effect until July 1. The council president said the change had been paraphrased for the meeting record and that the item is scheduled for consideration on the council agenda.
The council did not take a final vote on the resolution during the portion of the meeting recorded in the transcript. The item was introduced for consideration and will appear on the council’s agenda for further action.
