River Ridge supervisor James Gilman resigns; board outlines appointment process

The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expiring Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board discussed next steps. Because the seat will be filled by appointment rather than election, the board asked that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property-owner association manager e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and instructions to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The board also noted that administration of the oath of office, required ethics training, filing instructions for Form 1, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict) materials will be provided to the incoming appointee. The resignation was accepted on a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, and approved unanimously by those present.
No candidate was appointed at the Aug. 27 meeting; the board will consider applications at a future meeting.
