Commissioners authorize water interconnection MOU amendment, generator relocation and sewer easement

Sanitary Engineer Jeremy presented three related infrastructure resolutions and the Medina County Board of Commissioners approved all three by roll call.
Jeremy described the first resolution as an amendment to the memorandum of understanding with the rural Lorraine County Water Authority to allow reciprocal water system interconnections intended to improve system resiliency. The second resolution authorized relocating an emergency generator to the Windfall Road water tower site through competitive bidding (Equalis Group referenced as the procurement mechanism). The third resolution authorized obtaining an off‑site sanitary sewer easement on Bonita Road to support the Maria Gardens development project.
The board moved, seconded and approved the three items together. County staff will proceed with contract amendments, competitive procurement for the generator relocation, and easement negotiations as the next steps.
Next steps: finalize the MOU amendment, publish and execute competitive-bid documents for the generator relocation, and secure easement documentation for Bonita Road as part of the Maria Gardens project.
