Resident reports ongoing Pinehurst drainage, Board directs engineer to inspect

Resident Shari Perkins told the River Ridge Community Development District Board on July 23 that a week after street drains were plugged, "the drainage issues persist" and water has been overflowing at the Pinehurst triangle monument, potentially threatening nearby properties. She asked the Board to address the two drains at the monument and said she would provide photographs and video to CDD staff.
District Engineer John Baker told the Board that plugging the inlet stopped water from one system pushing into another but left standing water with no clear outlet, likening the condition to "a very tiny pond in a pipe." He said resolving the issue will likely require additional study and asked that staff collect photographs or video of flooding to aid analysis. The Board directed the District Engineer to view the drainage firsthand.
Resident Ed Nowak asked where the outflow at the north end of Pinehurst Greens Drive discharges; District Manager Chuck Adams said water ultimately flows into the Estero River and described the pipe route across private lots, the golf course and into a ditch that runs to the River Club. The Board acknowledged the potential for system impacts if flooding persists and instructed staff to investigate further.
No formal motion to fund repairs was taken at the meeting; staff will collect evidence and return with recommendations for any corrective work or further study at a future meeting.
