Commission approves routine orders, restoration plan and accepts small open-space donation

The Dennis Conservation Commission approved a series of routine actions at its Jan. 15 meeting, including orders of conditions and certificates of compliance for several properties, approval of a restoration plan, and acceptance of a small parcel as conservation land.
Commissioners voted to accept orders of conditions and close hearings for 23 River Lane (motion accepted), a salt marsh restoration project covering addresses including 71 Bridge Street, a septic upgrade at 11 Main Street (Route 28), and upgrades at 247 and 255 Lower County Road. Commissioners also approved certificates of compliance for SE16-2575 (27 Academy Hill Lane) and SE16-2036 (HorseFootPath beach access walkway).
For a restoration plan at 222 Setucket Road the property owner presented a planting and monitoring plan; staff recommended approval and a member suggested adding understory monitoring to ensure groundcover recovery. The owner agreed and the commission approved the plan with an added monitoring sentence.
Under administrative matters staff reported the town had offered a small parcel behind the senior center at 5 Jack Delaney Lane as a donation for conservation. Commissioners voted to accept the donation and place the parcel under the care of the conservation commission.
The meeting also included acceptance of minutes from several past dates and the commission adjourned after routine housekeeping.
