Otis Library board approves routine reports and outlines spring and summer programs

At its Jan. 9 meeting the Otis Library Board approved the minutes and routine financial and director's reports, learned of planned spring fundraising and summer programming, and approved the director's report. Friends events in February and April and a July writing program were noted.
The Otis Library Board of Trustees on Jan. 9 approved the December meeting minutes, the treasurer's report and the director's report and heard details of upcoming programming and fundraising.
The board met with Chairperson Sue Brofman calling the meeting to order at 6:11 p.m. The director's report recorded that Kathi Casey will be rebooked for a summer event related to a new book; there will be no Book Club meeting in January; Lara Tupper is set to offer a writing program in July; and Stephanie is exploring history programs for the year. Each of the three reports—the minutes, the treasurer's report and the director's report—was moved, seconded and approved by the board.
The Friends of the Library told the board they are contemplating a dinner and jewelry sale in February and are planning a book sale in April to raise funds for library activities. These events were presented as part of the organization's regular support for library programming and services.
Board members did not record additional formal conditions or amendments to the reports during the meeting. The board approved the director's report, clearing the way for the staff to proceed with scheduling and outreach tied to the announced events.
