Coolidge council approves routine administrative items including training, laptops and downtown beautification

The Coolidge City Council handled a bundle of routine administrative items Feb. 11, approving meeting minutes, professional development, equipment purchases and a downtown beautification project.
Motions recorded in the minutes include approval of the January 2025 workshop and council meeting minutes (moved by Elizabeth Leger; seconded by Melissa Johnson), approval of bills to be paid (moved by Elizabeth Leger; seconded by Freddie Johnson), and consent to the order of the meeting agenda (moved by Melissa Johnson; seconded by Elizabeth Leger). All were recorded as unanimously approved.
The council approved City Manager professional development (GMA MRAC Training) and clerk professional development with Valenti and Rackley and Associates on motions by W.C. Smith and seconds by Elizabeth Leger; both items were unanimously approved. The council also approved laptop computer quotes for the public works department and authorized use of service vehicles on weekends when staff are working or during weather emergencies. The council approved a volunteer-run downtown beautification project; Melissa Johnson said she will provide flowers and public works will water them.
The Stillwater Engineering bid discussion was postponed until further notice. The council scheduled a charter discussion for Feb. 18, 2025 and Elizabeth Leger noted that select members should attend GMA Newly Officials classes on March 18–20.
