Three Rivers board recognizes School Board Recognition Month, biliteracy recipients and regional principal award

Superintendent Nikki Nash read a press release designating January as School Board Recognition Month and presented certificates of appreciation from the district and the Michigan Association of School Boards to board members during the Jan. 13 organizational meeting.
Lauren McDonald, the district's ELL coordinator, recognized students Joseline Leon Magno and Jennifer Estrella Hernandez Medina for earning the 2023–24 Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in English and at least one additional language. Nash also reviewed the board's recognition of Hoppin Principal David Soderquist for receiving the 2024 MEMSPA Regional Honors Award as Region 4 Principal of the Year.
The recognitions were presented during the organizational portion of the meeting before the board moved to formal actions such as elections and adoption of the meeting calendar.
