Commission approves CDL training use permit for Challenger Avenue site
On June 25 the Historical Advisory Commission approved use permit UP26-11 allowing a commercial driver’s license training operation at 2020 Challenger Avenue, subject to a condition removing a proposed Grand Avenue U-turn from training routes; the applicants said routes will follow DMV testing and no classroom space is proposed.

The Historical Advisory Commission approved a use permit on June 25 to allow a commercial driver’s license (CDL) training operation at 2020 Challenger Avenue.(UP26-11) Planning staff told commissioners the operation would use an approximately two‑acre leased area in the Airport Business Park zoning district for hands‑on vehicle training and would not include on‑site classroom facilities.
