The Otis Public Library Trustees Board voted Nov. 13 to create an Assistant Library Director position and approved routine meeting documents, the board said.
The board convened at 6:01 p.m. and approved motions to accept the Oct. 9 joint Library Building Committee and Trustees Board minutes and the subsequent trustees meeting minutes, the Treasurer’s report and the Director’s report. Trustees also moved, seconded and approved acceptance of the Friends of the Library report.
Board members discussed staffing needs, hours, salary timing and pay dates. Trustees approved creation of an Assistant Library Director position; formal job descriptions will be prepared before hiring steps are taken. The meeting record notes the library’s printer is down and the facility is awaiting delivery of new computers.
Trustees also noted that new Tuesday open hours have proved popular with patrons. The board set the next meeting for Dec. 11 and adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
