Committee creates youth-services and data-quality subcommittees and dissolves workforce panel

The Benton-Franklin advisory committee voted to create two new subcommittees: one focused on behavioral-health services for youth and another to provide data and quality oversight for metrics submitted by the recovery center operator.
Jason Blood moved to form a youth-services subcommittee; members discussed whether non-committee delegates could serve in advisory roles and approved the motion by voice vote. Later in the meeting committee members moved and approved a Data and Quality Oversight subcommittee to receive and digest Comprehensive’s 90-day metric reports and to return actionable recommendations to the full board.
Committee members said the data subcommittee will need staff support to convert raw files into reportable formats and that the subcommittee should monitor metrics such as recidivism rates, capacity and ED-diversion counts. Several members suggested contracting with an outside data firm if staff capacity proves insufficient.
The committee also moved and approved dissolving the workforce development subcommittee, saying that body had completed its primary purpose.
Next steps: staff will schedule the new subcommittees, invite members, and set a cadence for metric reviews and monthly narrative updates.
