Andrew said four parcels are ready for sale while many others lack recorded deeds and that many parcels were acquired through tax foreclosure. The board discussed marketability and a gifted parcel containing Hiram's Tomb; Andrew said an abutting owner is willing to grant a right-of-way and has expressed interest in purchasing that parcel.
Board members raised questions about whether proceeds from land sales can be transferred into the town’s stabilization account and asked Alward to consult the town accountant about potential restrictions on deposited funds. Selectboard members noted that recent law changes may require returning proceeds to prior owners for property taken before November 2024; Andrew said this would require further review.
Later in the meeting the board voted to appoint Bob Daley and Veronica Marr to the Open Space Plan Committee after both expressed interest. The motion, made by Brian Forgue and seconded by John Baldasaro, passed.
