Staff previews updated Springerville general plan, schedules public hearings; residents press Main Street, sidewalk and utilities priorities

At a Springerville work session, staff described edits to the town's general plan (expired 2025), said the plan author was interim town manager Ted Sultis, and advised that planning and zoning and council public hearings will be advertised at least 15 days (likely August). Residents and staff highlighted sidewalks, Main Street safety, water/sewer capacity and site-specific questions about an east-side industrial park.

An unnamed presenter told the Springerville work session that staff have updated the town's general plan (the previous version ran 2015'2025), revising statistics, removing completed projects and adjusting timelines while leaving some older studies for future reference. "This is just a work session and a discussion about the updates to the general plan," the presenter said, explaining the document had been reviewed by interim town manager Ted Sultis and checked by staff including Robert Pena.
