Pendleton County awards Courthouse Annex contract to Lantz Construction for $4.97 million

Pendleton County Commissioners awarded the Courthouse Annex construction contract to Lantz Construction after opening bids at a reconvened session on Feb. 18, 2025.
Omni Associates opened two bids at 1:30 p.m. at the Pendleton County Courthouse. Highpoint submitted a bid of $5,235,400; Lantz Construction submitted the low bid of $4,969,000. Commissioner Carl Hevener and county staff confirmed both submissions included the required West Virginia contractor’s license and bid bond. The commission recorded the award of the contract to Lantz Construction, citing it as the lowest responsive bid.
David Snider of Omni Associates opened the bids and said both included the necessary documentation. Scott McConnell, clerk of works, and representatives from Lantz Construction and Highpoint were present for the opening. The commission scheduled a meeting for Thursday with Omni Associates, McConnell, the commissioners and Lantz Construction to review plans and scope of work before work begins.
The award follows routine procurement procedures; the commission did not record any objections in the meeting minutes. The meeting adjourned later that day and the commission set its next regular meeting for March 4, 2025.
