Spring Hill City warns $400,000–$500,000 cost after Reclamation Plant solids-processing failure

Assistant City Administrator Dan Allen told the Board that belt presses at the Reclamation Plant are inoperable, forcing temporary solids removal estimated at $400,000–$500,000; consultants will inspect and provide repair estimates next week.

Dan Allen, Assistant City Administrator and General Manager of Utilities, told the Board of Mayor and Aldermen that belt presses at the city’s Reclamation Plant are currently inoperable and solids are not being processed. "The estimated cost to pump and remove solids for processing is approximately $400,000--$500,000," Allen said. He added that consultants are scheduled to be onsite Tuesday to provide repair estimates and that staff will report back as more information becomes available.
