Pasco MPO approves minutes and three BPAC nominations

The Pasco Metropolitan Planning Organization on Feb. 12 approved minutes from previous meetings and confirmed three appointments to the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
After closing the public comment period, the board considered a consent item to approve the minutes from meetings on Jan. 9, May 8 and Feb. 13. A motion to approve the minutes as a single consent item was moved and seconded, and the board adopted the minutes by voice vote.
Angel Avila, Pasco MPO staff, then presented three BPAC nominees and asked the board to confirm them. The board approved Daniel McDowell to serve as an at-large BPAC member; Avila said McDowell is a lifelong Pasco County resident, an avid trail user and president of the McDowell Foundation. The board also approved Francisco Moreno Orama as a Dade City representative (recommended by Mayor Scott Black to replace Tyrone Lovett) and approved Chris Palovich to serve as the District 3 representative; Avila said Palovich was nominated by Commissioner Starkey and brings a business and marketing background.
Each nomination was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board took no additional action beyond the confirmations.
What happens next: the three appointees will join BPAC committee work and be included in relevant committee communications and meeting schedules.
