At its June 9 meeting the Mapleton Local School District Board approved the Superintendent's consent agenda, enacting multiple personnel actions to staff the district for the 2025–26 school year.
The board (motion by Vince Hartzler, seconded by Kathy Goon) approved employment of William Ables as a custodial substitute and Caroline Kiser as a van driver substitute, subject to criminal record checks and required qualifications. The consent agenda also approved certified staff leave requests for Carrie Ignaczak and Cathy Daly.
Two resignations were accepted effective July 31, 2025: Brittany Palmer from her roles as Mapleton Middle School social studies teacher, National Junior Honor Society advisor and lead mentor; and Britt Hory as a speech-language pathologist.
The board approved multiple supplemental contracts for 2025–26, including new and returning coaching and advisor assignments (Lead Mentor: Sandy Kowatch; Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach: Matthew Brightbill; JV Boys Basketball: Ron Davidson; Freshman Boys Basketball: Brennan Scheck; faculty managers Matt Kidney and Ericka Hellickson; National Junior Honor Society Advisor Kayla Nicholson, among others). The board also approved a list of instructors for credit recovery and detention monitor assignments.
Separately, the board approved the appointment of Dylan Hartzler as 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach. The vote was recorded as four in favor and one abstention (Vince Hartzler).
