Mapleton board appoints two members to fill seats left vacant after November election
The Mapleton Local School District Board unanimously appointed Kyle Gordon and Travis Kettering to two board seats left vacant after no candidates ran in the November 2025 election; both were sworn in and the Treasurer was directed to notify the Ashland County Board of Elections.

Mapleton Local School District Board President Vince Hartzler presided over a special meeting on Jan. 29, 2026, at which the board unanimously approved a resolution appointing Kyle Gordon and Travis Kettering to fill two vacant board seats, with both terms set to expire Dec. 31, 2029.
