Commissioner Colleen Roberts said at the Jackson County Board of Commissioners staff meeting on March 12, 2026, that she had provided information to U.S. Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden about the proposed delisting of gray wolves in Oregon and recommended adding a future agenda item to consider next steps.
Roberts made the remark during liaison and committee reports at the staff meeting convened by Chair Rick Dyer. The meeting reviewed the March 18 Board of Commissioners regular meeting agenda with no changes and recorded no formal motions or votes on the wolf issue.
County Administrator Danny Jordan reviewed the March 18 agenda and reported there were no changes. County Counsel Joel Benton said he had nothing to report. Commissioner Randy Sparacino was recorded as absent. The staff meeting opened at 9:03 a.m. and was adjourned at 9:37 a.m.
Roberts’ recommendation was a request for the Board’s future consideration; the staff meeting record shows no decision or assignment on timing or scope for such an agenda item. The March 18 regular meeting was reviewed but did not include any addition related to the wolf delisting at the time this staff meeting record was finalized.
