Premier Lakes reports maintenance progress; board to explore moving compressor after sound concerns

Premier Lakes representative Bill Kurth reported that the community’s lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are in good condition overall but that seasonal algae growth had been observed and scheduled plantings are planned.
Kurth said a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels and described that reduction as acceptable given the location between the compressor and the screen line. Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned, however, that “the issue is not so much about the decibels but it is the tone of the aerator,” and recommended evaluating moving the compressor to further address the nuisance sound.
Board members discussed potential easement and rip-rap work to address flooding observed in Edgewater, and Chair Bob Schultz recommended meeting with an Edgewater association representative to reach an acceptable solution. The Board reached consensus to delay planting in Lake E4-A and to avoid Canna lilies until an agreement with the Edgewater Association is reached. Mr. Willis and Premier Lakes will coordinate on compressor location and report back at the next meeting.
