Winston R-VI board appoints Joshua Silver to vacancy and adopts policy 2656 option A

The Winston R-VI School Board unanimously appointed Joshua Silver to a vacant board seat and adopted option A of policy 2656 during its regular meeting Sept. 17, 2025.
Hydi Sheetz, board chair, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. The board first approved the meeting agenda on a motion by board member Aaron Piburn, seconded by Karla Youtsey; the motion passed 5-0. The consent agenda was then approved on the same tally after a motion by Piburn and a second from Karla Youtsey.
During the consent/appointment portion of the meeting, Amber Estep moved to appoint Joshua Silver to the Board of Education vacancy; Aaron Piburn seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 5-0, officially filling the vacant seat.
Under New Business, board member Karla Youtsey moved to adopt option A of policy 2656 and to approve all other policies and regulations as presented; Chair Hydi Sheetz seconded. The motion passed 5-0. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn by Karla Youtsey, seconded by Hydi Sheetz; the board adjourned at 9:06 p.m.
Board members noted a retreat scheduled for Oct. 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., with a board meeting to follow. No votes were recorded on items beyond the motions listed above.
