Rangeley panel approves summer events, fireworks permits and a July private permit
At its June 16 meeting the Rangeley Park Commission approved the annual Splash Out Summer event for Aug. 19, fireworks displays tied to July 2–3 with staging and parking plans, and a private permit for a July 3 birthday event; officials emphasized coordination with law enforcement and contingency plans for weather.

"Welcome to the June 16 Park Commission meeting," the chair opened, and the commission quickly moved through several event permits. The commission voted to approve the Splash Out Summer event for Aug. 19 after a motion and second. Members then approved permits for fireworks planned around July 2–3, discussing staging locations, perimeter needs and viewing points near the waterfront.
