Miscellaneous Edgewater code-enforcement matters closed or found in violation
Summary
At the Feb. 12 hearing the magistrate found several properties in violation but recorded compliance or payment in most matters: two semitrucks and trailers at a closed store (citation paid), an inoperable vehicle citation (citation assessed, property in compliance) and an illegal water connection that was removed and paid.
Several additional cases were heard and resolved during the Feb. 12 City of Edgewater code-enforcement hearing.
- 311 South Ridgewood Ave (Edgewater Medical Service LLC): Two semitrucks and trailers with expired tags were observed in the parking lot of a closed Badcock Furniture store. The property was brought into compliance on Jan. 20, 2026; staff recommended a $75 citation which was paid on Jan. 21 and no daily fines were requested.
- 118 East Ocean Ave (James Ogden): Officer Hayzwood reported two vehicles with expired or missing registration decals. No respondent appeared; the magistrate found a violation and assessed a $75 citation. The property was noted as in compliance and no daily fines were assessed.
- 122 Merrimack St (George and Rebecca Davis): An illegal connection to the city water system made during construction was discovered; city crews removed the illegal connection and the citation was paid. Staff requested that the finding be recorded as a repeat-offense status for five years; the magistrate found a violation and took no further action because the matter was in compliance.
These cases were handled as administrative enforcement matters; staff recommended and the magistrate recorded findings consistent with compliance status and payment where applicable.
