County frames solid-waste update around circular-economy goals, landfill contingency

Staff told the board the solid-waste element’s overall goal is to provide clean, efficient and environmentally sound management of the county’s solid-waste resources and identified LaVita Brown Environmental Park as the central processing facility. The element currently uses a reference processing figure of about 0.8 inbound tons per person per year at LaVita Brown; staff said that baseline will be reevaluated as part of the update.
