Council approves $1,000 Stephenson Fund donation to local food pantry; confirms arts commission appointment

City Clerk Jody Schneider presented a request to approve a $1,000 donation from the Stephenson Fund to the Food Center, a local food pantry, saying the pantry saw an approximate 10% increase in households seeking assistance in late 2025 and that the donation would be used to purchase meat and eggs to supplement donated items.
Schneider told the council that if approved, the two recent requests would bring Stephenson Fund expenditures to $3,000 of the $3,350 budget for the fiscal year and that staff is creating a formal application process for those donations to be considered in the future. City staff recommended approval.
The council voted to approve the resolution. Later in the meeting Mayor Bruce de Euler moved to appoint Woods Preo as the business representative on the Arts Commission to fill an unexpired term through October 2027; the council voted to confirm the appointment.
