MPO opens 10-day public review for $3.83 million in active-transportation and shared-use path projects

The UPAS MPO board voted to open a 10-day public review and comment period for an amendment to its interim program of projects to add two projects submitted by the City of Eagle Pass.
Staff said the two projects proposed for inclusion are an active transportation planning project ($360,000) and a city-led shared-use path construction project ($3,470,000). Because changes to the short-range program require a public comment window, the board approved opening the 10-day review; staff will publish public notice in the local newspaper and return with a resolution to formally amend the program after the comment period ends.
Councilman Diaz moved to open the 10-day comment period and Commissioner Ramos seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Staff also noted they may call a special meeting to adopt the amendments once the comment period closes; otherwise adoption will proceed at the regular April meeting.
