Rolla council approves infrastructure, code and procurement measures in single session

Council adopted ORDINANCE 4853 to add a new section (30-49) prohibiting public urination or defecation in city limits (motion Megan Johnson, second Steve Jackson). The council awarded Project 541 Phase 2B kennel masonry to BuildTec Construction LLC for $165,000 (motion Nathan Chirban, second William Hahn). The council approved purchase of a 2025 Ford F-350; the city's share is $11,565.53 and a Homeland Security grant will cover $42,272.47 for a total of $53,838 (motion Mattias Penner, second Tina Balch).
Other procedural items approved included acceptance of the April 8, 2025 certified election results (voice vote) and approval of use of Rolla National Airport fields for Greek Week Games in September 2025 with beer sales permitted (voice vote 12–0).
